Hi Everyone, sorry I haven't posted in a few days but us here at the Sweeney household are all sick! I've got 2 sick babies, a sick Hubby, and i'm sick too. I'll try and get some freebies back on here as soon as I can. Thanks.

Well... TGIF!!! I hope that everyone is going to have a great weekend. This is the last weekend my parents will be here. They are going home on Sunday night. Tomorrow we are going to a place called Heritage Park. It is a park/tourist thingy that represents Calgary 100 years ago. It is supposed to be a great place to go. Hopefully we'll have lots of fun. And of course, i'll be posting some pics on Monday morning for you all to see. Sunday we are going to go to the park and to the playground so the kids can play. Then off to the airport Sunday night....

Another Grandparents Wordart Freebie

I am having such a great visit with my parents. It's so good having them here with us and of course, the kids. They are lovin' their Nanna and Poppa! Emma is very attached to her Poppa especially. When they go home on Sunday, i'm going to have 2 sad kiddos. I am trying to complete some layouts of their visit so they can take them home with them when they leave. New layouts, New wordart, New Contest!!!

I hope that everyone had a great weekend! On Saturday we got up bright and early and went to IKEA for breakfast. I just love that you can get a healthy breakfast for $1. After we filled our bellies, we took a LONG tour of the store. I found my dream kitchen too!!! It is absolutely beautiful and when I get my new house, I am having that kitchen. After lunch we took the family and went to the new Walmart Superstore and picked up some groceries. I also got a great new black shirt for $2. Just gotta love the sales at Walmart! On Sunday we stayed home and cooked a HUGE dinner with Chicken, Veggies, Gravy, and for those of you who know about Newfie cookin', a huge plate of salt beef. YUMMY!!! Not to mention warm apple pie for dessert.

I actually got some time yesterday to get a little scrapping done. Yeah! Here are a few layouts I created and I used my wordart on them.

To create both of these layout, I used the kit "Rustic Blues" by Grace Bennett.

Here is a layout sent to me by Mirta Beatriz Esteban. She use my "JUST LIKE DAD" wordart. Isn't her layout just great!

A fun day at the zoo! plus a new wordart freebie

Yesterday was so much fun! When we woke up it was such a beautiful morning, we decided that today would be a great day to take the kids to the zoo. Emma was so excited to look at all the animals. Aiden couldn't have been bothered... he slept through most of it. LOL.

Just like Mom: New wordart freebie

Yesterday's busy day wasn't so busy after all.... Mom and Dad took the kids out to the mall and I finally got some time alone. The first thing I did was take a nice, long, hot, soapy shower! I can honestly say that it was probally the best shower I have had in almost 3 years! Not kidding! Then I had a great cup of tea and sat down to the computer.... there was something wrong.... no crying kids! LOL. IT WAS WONDERFUL!!! I finally had some time to catch up on email and I actually got a little designing done. HINT HINT!!! I am working on a new kit that I am going to be giving away as a SPECIAL freebie... HINT HINT. New Wordart Freebie: Big Miracle-Boy

I'm a little late getting this post out today. I picked my parents up at the airport yesterday. They were so happy to see the kids. Aiden took right to Dad as soon as he saw that he was wearing a Baseball Hat. He loves those hats. LOL. Emma was pretending that she was shy until we got out to the truck and she got in her carseat. They she was on her own turf and she ruled the roost as they say. When we got back to my house, the dog went crazy for my parents. I had to put him in the storage room until he calmed down. He remembered them right away and was super excited to see them. After about an hour, Emma and Aiden acted like they had been with their grandparents all their lives, hugging and kissing. It was wonderful!

New Wordart Freebie: Big Miracle-Girl

I am soon going to the Airport to pick up my parents!!! I am so excited. I haven't seen them in over a year now. Dad hasn't seen Aiden since he was only 3 weeks old.... boy is he in for a shock. LOL. I have been showing Emma pictures of her Nanna and Poppa for the past few days trying to get her used to their faces again. When she looks at them now, she calls them by name. I spent all day yesterday, getting things ready for their arrival. I moved Emma's bed into my Master Suite and put a new bed in her room for Mom and Dad to sleep on. Mom has a bad back so she needs a special mattress. It's been about 12-13 years since she had bowel Cancer. It had grown onto a muscle in her back and when they removed the tumor, they had to cut away the back muscle. She has been Cancer free for all that time though and is doing great. Anyhoo... it is going to be so great to see them both again.

A little update on my life: New wordart Freebie

Well... I have been quite the busy little beaver lately. LOL. As you know, my step-son was visiting us from NL last week. It was so great to have him here and I miss him alot since he went back home yesterday. Hopefully we'll get to go back home for vacation soon and then we can get to see him again, not to mention the rest of the family. LOl. While he was here, we tried to do as much sightseeing as possible which was hard to do cause Hubby was working so much. We did get to go to Edmonton for the day though. We took the kids to the West Edmonton Mall! For those of you who don't know, it's the biggest mall in Canada. It was so much fun! I have some pics here for you to see.



This is the huge Pirate ship in the middle of the mall. It is part of a huge Sea-World type exhibit called Pirates of the Mall.

Our next fun stop was at the BUILD A BEAR WORKSHOP! I have been wanting to take the kids here for a while now so they could pick out their own special friends. Emma chose a Black Lab just like our dog HOBO. Emma also chose a dog for Aiden, a Husky. She wanted to name her dog HOBO and Aiden's dog BOBO. So cute. Here are some pics.

All in all, we had a great day. My parents are coming for a visit from Newfoundland tomorrow and I can't wait for them to get here. We are going to make another trip to The West Edmonton Mall while they are here so i'll be sure to post more pics for you to see then too. My parents are going to be here until September 28th. I haven't seen them since Aiden was 5 weeks old. We are all so excited. I don't know if i'll be able to sleep tonight!!!

For those of you who know me, you know that I have a Step-Son who is visiting us all the way from Newfoundland! His name is Damon and he is 18 years old and is probally one of the best young men you will ever meet. I first met Damon when he was only 8 years old and I loved him so much eversince. He has always treated me with so much love and respect. When we moved to Calgary almost 4 years ago, the hardest part was leaving him. This is the first time we have seen him since then. He left last week with his uncle and drove from Newfoundland to Alberta in 4 days, that's over 6000km! When he got here, he said that the best thing about travelling was when you finally get where you are going. It's not exactly todays quote but close enough. LOL.

32 years ago on this wonderful day, an amazing baby was born.... ME!! LOL. I can't beleive that I am 32 years old today! When I got up this morning, the hubby had already gone to work, but... laying next to me on his pillow was an envelope addressed to who else?.... The Birthday Girl! Inside it was a beautiful card and a gift certificate for a spa day! Whoooo Hoooo! He had also mentioned that I would get more presents when he gets home rom work today. Well, it's finally Day 7 of my BABY's FIRST SERIES! I remember how excited I was when Emma took her first step. It was 2 weeks before her first Birthday and she took 4 steps! Day 4: BABY's FIRST SERIES: First Car Ride

It's Day 4 in my Baby's First Series! FIRST CAR RIDE.I remember both of my Baby's first car rides... it was coming home from the hospital. It took us 35 minutes before I would let my hubby pull out of the Hospital parking lot. I made him check the seatbelt a few dozen times, then he had to check the infant carrier's seatbelt, then the base, then I had to make sure the handle was locked in the upright position..... Finally, my hubby took me by the hand, led me to my door, opened it, helped me inside, checked my seatbelt, and then we took Emma home. LOL. When we had Aiden, it was check everything once and lets get the heck out of here. LOL.
