SLICE OF SUMMER!

TGIF!!! Friday has got be my favorite day of the week! It means that in just a few short hours, the Hubby will be home from work and with us until Tuesday morning. We have a long weekend! Yay! And the weather is supposed to be beautiful so we're hopeing to get out of town so the kids can get some fresh Rocky Mountain air in their lungs!

SUMMER LOVIN

Hi! Well... I finished the NIGHT WORLD books and I must say I really enjoyed them. It was well written and very interesting. I definately recommend it to you. If you're at all like me, once I start reading a book, I find any excuse I can to sneak away for a few minutes and read a few pages. I usually carry the book with me where ever I go in the house like a security blanket. LOL. It drives the Hubby nuts though. LOL. I have to get THE VAMPIRE DIARIES today!

I still feel like I need a good TWILIGHT fix too. I was on Angies Blog (IKEA GODDESS) a few days ago and she recommended a fanfic named I Love LA. Click HERE to read. It's about a 33 year old actress/singer who falls in love with the man himself, Rob Pattinson. I was a bit apprensive about the whole "real" person story but thought i'd give it a read, well.... it is very steamy! No, not steamy, pornographic! BUT AWESOME!!! If you are the type of person who is easily offended, this story is definately not for you. There's lots of "four letter words" and "mature" content. It's amazingly well written and the author also gives you a playlist of songs that she wants to to listen to while reading the story to get the full effect. AWESOME!!! If you are a real RPattz fan, you'll love this story. I have a few chapters left to read so hopefully later today i'll get a chance to finish it. If you're intersted in reading other Twlight themed fanfiction go to www.fanfiction.net Some of the stories aren't that good, or well written either but if you push through them, you'll be sure to find some gems. My favorite one yet has to be "AN UNTITLED CONTINUATION OF THE TWILIGHT SAGA". Click HERE to read. It continues on from where Breaking Dawn ends off. It's really good and suitable for all ages.

Today i'm taking the kids and heading into Calgary for the day. I have to go to Chapters to get my new books first. Then we're going for lunch and possibly the splash park. Still trying to round up some friends to meet us there. Should be a great day. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, you get the drift. Haha!

Hi All... whoo hoo... it's Wednesday! Only 2 more days to the weekend. And, it's a long weekend here in Alberta! Not sure yet what the family will be doing but we're definately heading out of the city! Gotta get out, get some fresh air, and blow away the "city stink"! lol.

DIVE INTO SUMMER

Happy Monday Morning! I hope you all had an awesome weekend! We did too! It was so great. On Saturday morning we got up and took the kids out to McDonalds for breakfast. I know we had planned on taking the kids to IKEA but the streets around it was closed off so we couldn't get in there. McDonalds was the closest so we ate there. Aiden stuffed himself, as usual. LOL. Emma was really into dipping her english muffin in ketchup and then wiping it off with a napkin. Gross! She wouldn't eat it but she had lots of fun. We then spent the rest of the day shopping. It was soooooo hot we decided that we would stick to places with lots of AC. All in all we had a great day. I didn't get to get my shelves so a trip to IKEA is still planned for next weekend. We had a great bbq for supper and then watched HOTEL FOR DOGS. It was a really cute movie and anything with dogs is perfect for my kids. They love dogs. Sunday was a lazy day. It was cooler, only reaching 26 degrees so we decided to bake some cookies and cook a big supper. I made chocolate chip cookies and macaroons. The macaroons were to sweet. Next time, less sugar.

I got an eamil from my friend Lori a few days ago and she wanted me to make her a set of summer themed wordart that she could use to make a Brag Book Album for her kids summer pics. She gave me a whole list of titles that she wanted to use. I played around with them and if I do say so myself, I think they're pretty cute. Very simple in the styling. For all the "written" words I used the font Stephanie Marie JF and for the rest I used An Unfortunate Event Dewarped. I really like how they turned out and i'm definately going to use them for my summer pics too. So... for the next 2 weeks, maybe 3 weeks, you'll be getting each of these as your freebie. AIDENS BIRTHDAY!!!!!

TGIF! This has been a long week. It's been so hot in the night time that i've been having a hard time sleeping. Then of course, once I do get to sleep, the kids decide they're getting up at 6AM. Oh the trials of motherhood! LOL. Does anyone have any plans for this weekend? I think we're going into Calgary to do some shopping. I have to go to IKEA and get a new bookcase for my books. And possibly one for the kids. I wanted to find one with deep shelves so I can put some wicker baskets in them so the kids can have their toys and books and such in them. And of course while we're there we have to eat breakfast. They have the best breakfast for only$2! If you haven't had it before, I definately suggest you do.

As you can tell from the title of this post.... Aiden's Birthday is coming up! Yay! My little man will be turning 2 on August 6th!
