ANGELS ARE GIFTS OF THE HEART

Hi... todays post is going to be short and sweet! LOL. I am hard at work trying to finish up my new kit. I was hopeing to finish up last night but life got in the way...again! LOL. The kids were wanting Mommy more than usual so I spent most of the evening with them. I didn't even get to work on my course. I'll try to get some time today.

HOPPY EASTER: My new kit!

Happy Monday Morning!!! I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was awesome. I spent lots of quality time with the family, got some major designing done, worked on my course, cleaned my house from top to bottom, and watched some movies. All in all, it was a great weekend. Very relaxing.

Seeing that Easter is right around the corner, I thought you might like this cute little kit that i've been working on. A SPECIAL ANGEL

Yesterday after the Hubby got home from work, we took the kids to Walmart. I wanted to get some new shoes. I actually got 2 new pairs, a pair for each of the kids and even the Hubby got a new pair of boots. I quickly went to the movie section and snagged my very own copy of TWILIGHT!!! I can't wait to watch it again today. I'm still waiting for my books to get here so I can start reading them. A friend told me to go onto the official Stephenie Meyers website and I could read the first chapter of each book. So... I did and now i'm even more anxious to get cracking on those books. LOL.

I also finished my first lesson in my course last night, did the exam online and guess what? I got 100%! Yay for me! I also got a little design time in while the kids were having their snacks. I am almost finished a new kit. Should be done in a few days. Things are going to be busy for the next week so i'm hopeing to fit in a little design time tonight to try and finish as much as possible. On Saturday I am going to the airport to see one of my friends and her baby boy. I haven't seen Lisa in over 4 years and her little boy is 1 year old now. She was back in Newfoundland for 5 months going to college to finish her nursing course. I can't wait to see her!

STEPPING STONES with Inspired Mommie Designs

Good Morning all. Hope you all got a good nights sleep last night. I kinda did. Aiden slept until 3:00 and was then up every 15 minutes until about 6 AM. When I finally got him settled down, Emma woke up so I went and got in bed with her and we slept until 8:15 am! She was so cozy and cuddly in the bed that she put me right to sleep. LOL. Aiden slept until almost 8:30 when Emma finally decided that she was going to wake him up because his "belly was hungry". Kids say the sweetest things!

Guess what... I'm going back to school! Well... not back to school, i'm going to be doing some online and correspondence courses to complete my Banking and Finance degree. My Hubby and I decided that while the kids are young, I would stay home from working to care for them until they get in school. During this time, we figiured it would be a great opportunity for me to finish my degree. Up until now, things have been so busy and time management has been almost impossible but now, with the kids being older and able to play with each other, it gives me a little extra time that I can get back to my studies. I received my first set of lessons last week and i'm planning on starting them on Monday. I have put aside an hour each day when the kids are napping as well as an hour in the evening to concentrate on my studies. I am so excited and can't wait to get cracking! Wish me luck! LOL.

I also have some new kits in the works right now. Over the next few weeks, I plan on releasing at least 6 new kits and several new wordart packs. I am also working on a few little special accessories that I won't get into right now, but i'll be sure to give you a sneak peak a little later. LOL. Gotta keep you guessing, right?

IT's DOLLAR DAY AT PRETTY SCRAPPY

Good Monday Morning! I hope that you all had a great weekend. Mine was one of the best ever! I was so busy with the kids and we had soooo much fun. On Friday night we stayed in and watched some kiddie movies. We watched 2 Dora the Explorer movies, 1 Diego movie and part of Clifford's Big Movie. They are both obsessed with Dora and Diego! Saturday morning we went into Calgary for the day and did a little shopping. I bought some bread at McGavins Bread Basket, some top-up groceries like eggs, milk, fruit, sandwich meats, etc... We then went to one of our favorite coffee shops called The Second Cup. They have an awesome iced coffe drink that we love! It's called an Icepresso Chiller. They are fairly expensive so we don't have them often. For 2 large Icepresso's, and 2 small pieces of cherry poppyseed cake, it was almost $16! YUMMY!

After the kids went to bed Saturday night, I finally got to watch TWILIGHT!!! And I can honestly say that i'm now addicted! We ordered it on PPV so we had it for 24 hours. In those 24 hours, I watched it 3 times! And guess what... I'm going into Walmart tomorrow and buying a copy of it on DVD! I loved the movie and I now see why everyone was so excited about it. Then yesterday, I ordered the whole series from my book club. I can't wait to start reading them. Now I have to wait until November 20th for NEW MOON to be released in theaters. LOL.

Remember about 2 weeks ago I told you about the book I had read by Sophie Kinsella called REMEMBER ME? Well... I just finished another of her books called THE UNDOMESTIC GODDESS. Really good. Basic storyline, overworked Laywer forgets to file an important paper, looses a client 50 million pounds, looses job, freaks out and runs away to the country. Takes a job as a housekeeper/cook (she can barely make toast) for a rich family, meets and handsome gardener.... it was a great story and I recommend this one too. LOL.

So... I received an email from Mary-Louise from Bangor, Maine a few days ago. She sent me a copy of a layout she had seen in one of the galleries here in Digi-land and it had a cute wordart about Fathers. She wanted a version created just like it but with Mothers. So... here it is. She didn't have the name of the original wordart creator, but if anyoune out there knows who created the original, I'd love to know. And just to be fair, I have created the Fathers version too. It's a bit different from the original but hopefully someone can tell me who the designer was. Tomorrow i'll be giving you the father version.

Top O' The Morning To Ya! Happy St. Paddy's Day! So... What do you do on St. Patricks Day? Do you eat Irish food and drink green beer? Usually, we go out to a great little Irish pub in the city called Jamesons. On St. Paddy's Day they have a huge buffet and all the green beer you can drink. This year though, I have 2 sick kiddo's so I won't be going anywhere. I guess I could pop the top on a beer from the fridge and add some green food coloring. LOL.

I wanted to Thank all of you who expressed your concern over the helicopter crash of March 12th, 2009. Over the past few days, rescue workers have been feverishly working to recover the bodies from the downed helicopter. As of early today, all 17 bodies have been recovered and transported back to St. John's. The one lone survivor, Robert Decker is still in critical but stable condition in hospital. So far, one of the victims has been burried and another funeral is scheduled for Friday. This is such a hard time for the residents of Newfoundland. People who work on the oil rigs are a close knit bunch of people and being such a small group, everyone knows everyone. I don't think that there is one Newfoundlander in the whole world that hasn't been affected by this tragedy. Thanks again for your concern.

MY CREATIVE TEAM: Plus a new wordart freebie!

Happy Monday Morning! I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was great! LOTS of family time with the Hubby and the Kidlets. I won't bore you with the details but we shopped, cleaned the house, had the best chinese food EVER, watched many, many movies and just took it easy. It was great! I also decided it was time to get a haircut. I wanted something shorter and easier to manage. Having two kids at home under 3 years old, I really don't get much time to style my hair. I really like my new cut. I'll have to take a pic and post it for you to see. Very cute I think. LOL. When Aiden is trying to settle down for a nap or just for cuddle time, he loves to wrap his fingers around my hair. I wasn't sure how he was going to react to the new short cut. When I left the salon and came out to get in the truck, he started to cry and wouldn't look directly at me the whole ride home. He was so freaked out. Emma loved it. all she kept doing was laughing ands aying Mom Mom's hair gone. It was so sweet. When we finally arrived home, and I went to take Aiden out of his carseat, he freaked and didn't want me touching him. What a tantrum he pulled. It took him about 3 hours before he would actually look at me and about 2 more before he would get in my arms. Poor little guy. He doesn't like change. But, by bedtime he was his usual cuddly self.

REMEMBER

I am deeply saddened by the events of February 12th, 2009. Off the South East coast of Newfoundland, a Cougar Helicopter carrying 18 passengers and crew headed out to go to work on both the Sea Rose and the Hibernia oil platforms. After the helicopter had flown about 90 kms, they sent a radio message to shore and said they were having technical difficulties and were returning to St. John's. At 9:18am, that plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. Approximately 45 minutes later, one sole survivor was plucked from the water and airlifted to St. John's where he now is in critical condition at the St. John's Health Sciences Center. After several hours of searching by the Canadian Coast Guard, The Canadian Forces, and local agencies, only one poor soul has been recovered. Still, 16 men and women are missing. My thoughts and prayers go out to those who are still missing as well as to their family and friends. At the same time, I am so thankful that my Father was not on that flight today. My Father is working right now on the Sea Rose. The missing, dead, and the recovered are all know by my Father. He has worked alongside of those people. Shared stories, ate meals, spent their downtime together. As the search continues, I will continue to pray for their rescue or recovery and I will also thank God that my Father is safe and sound. Please, as you go about your day, be thankful for your loved ones, family, and friends, and say a little prayer for those who are missing today. Remember.

A FATHERS HEART...

Ooops... I was so busy last night and knew that I would be busy today, so I decided to set this post up to pre-publish at 6 AM this morning. Whatever happened, I set it to publish at 6 PM. When I checked it a few minutes ago, no post! So... I have everything fixed and ready to go. LOL.

NEW WORDART FREEBIE

Good Morning All. Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was really good until yesterday when I got the hugest headache! I spent most of the day upstairs in my bedroom, in the peace and quiet, trying to get it to go away. Finally around supper time, it went! Yay! More bad news though, when I woke up this morning, I had another one. I popped a few Motrin and i'm trying to take it easy and keep the kids quiet. That's easier said than done though. LOL.

Have you heard of the book and now movie "Confessions of a shopoholic"? Well, the authors name is Sophie Kinsella and she has written lots of awesome books. I just finished reading "Remember Me". It was a really great read. The basic plotline, girl parties with friends, falls down, wakes up in hospital with amnesia, tries to rebuild a life she knows nothing about. Throw in a drop dead gorgeous husband, a lover, and friends who think you're the bitch from hell and you've got yourself a good read! LOL. I definately reccomend it. I really enjoyed it so now I have to buy another of her books. Maybe "Confessions..."

It's time again for another PLAY WITH WORDS CHALLENGE! Yay! I bet you've been waiting all month. LOL. This month's theme is a very special one: BIRTHDAY! As you all know, Pretty Scrappy is celebrating its 1st birthday this month and were going all out!

WE ARE A HAPPY FAMILY

I hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was really great until I took the kids with me grocery shopping yesterday. Aiden hates to be in the shopping cart so he always pitches a fit but yesterday was the worst ever! Even Emma was freaking out. We finally managed to get the 2 carts with kids and groceries in the checkout line, when Aiden kept trying to get out of the cart. I started bagging and the Hubby was placing our items on the counter to be checked in. Emma and Aiden were between myself and the Hubby in an empty cart. I looked at Aiden, turned my head, and placed a bottle of mayo in the bag when I saw Aiden running across the store! I had to drop everything and chase after him! Finally caught him, put him back in the cart, when Emma jumped out and started running as fast a she could too. I caught her and resumed my packing. Not once, not twice, but THREE times Aiden got out of the cart and ran away! Boy oh Boy was I stressed. By this point both kids were crying and screaming to the top of their lungs, and everyone was staring at us. There was this one woman who kept looking at me and tooting her lips. I finally got so fed up with her, I asked her if she had a problem! She just smiled and laughed. UUURRRGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had finally gotten to pay for the groceries, the Hubby had taken Aiden and I was left with Emma. Then she decides that she doesn't want to sit in the cart. She wants to run away from me screaming "NO MOMMY, NO!" I finally catch her, manage to get her in the cart and out the door. I was so embarrassed. I decided then and there that the next time I go to buy anything... I go alone! What a day!
